U.S. Congressman Zach Wamp discusses the recent economic rescue plan, energy and energy alternatives, conservation and preventive health care

In an effort to continue our mission to educate and inform, your local PBS station will share an up close and personal look into the latest happenings in our nation’s capital.  Tennessee District 3’s U.S. Congressman, Zach Wamp (R-TN), will share his perspective on the recent financial fallout and what state and Washington lawmakers are doing to secure our future through energy, conservation and health care strategies, in a WTCI special program to air Friday, October 24 at 9 p.m.—Conversations with the Congressman.

"In the midst of all the economic uncertainty, many in East Tennessee are focused on their financial futures, including energy and health care costs," said Congressman Zach Wamp. "We need an 'all of the above' strategy to bring energy costs down, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and create American jobs. And we need a preventive health care strategy to combat the obesity epidemic, work toward reducing chronic disease in America and make health care more affordable for families."

During this special one-on-one interview, Congress Zach Wamp will offer a report to constituents with clear insight on topics such as, the recent economic rescue plan, energy tax credits, energy alternatives, conservation and preventive health care.

“At WTCI, we felt it was important to provide a forum to tackle the questions and issues that are directly impacting the community we serve,” said Paul Grove, President and CEO of WTCI. “This program is one way we can help our community be more informed, locally, about national issues.” Conversations with the Congressman will air on WTCI Friday, October 24 at 9 p.m. and Sunday, October 26 at 11 a.m. The full program will also be viewable at wtciTV.org after the premiere.
