CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – October 24, 2018 – WTCI is pleased to announce that EXPLORE HEALTH, an exciting locally-produced program, will debut a second season Thursday, October 25th at 8 PM. Health is one of the leading topics in America today and WTCI will partner with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee to bring this quality, trusted programming to the Tennessee Valley. This debut episode will feature Dr. Bruce Perry, a nationally-renown expert from the Child Trauma Academy in a powerful discussion about the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on our community and its children. Thursday’s program also features Chattanooga Police Chief David Roddy, Richard Tate from the Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee, Jared Bigham from Chattanooga 2.0, Congressman Chuck Fleischmann and Tim Kelly from Kelly Subaru.

Hosted by Ron Harr, former President/CEO of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce and CEO of BlueCare, the second season will feature health experts exploring the important topics that matter to everyone in 12 episodes during the Fall/Winter season. “The poor state of public health is costing us all – in money and joy of living. There is no better way to communicate public health information than through public television,” says Ron Harr.

Paul Grove, President and CEO of WTCI, expressed pride in the station’s team, saying “WTCI’s dedicated production staff tells the stories that make our region unique, educating, engaging and inspiring a lifetime of learning in all of our neighbors. We are thrilled to bring this critical health-related content to our community and are grateful for the support of our sponsors and members. Our team has lined up the best regional experts for each one of these important episodes and we invite you to join us each Thursday night at 8:00 PM.”

This series reflects WTCI’s commitment to local programming, strong partnerships with area business and organizations and an interactive approach to storytelling. Viewers are invited to share their questions and thoughts on topics through social media outlets and via email and web portals. Ron Harr and his guests will engage the Tennessee Valley as we EXPLORE HEALTH in our community and beyond, addressing topics like suicide, food sources and labeling, women’s heart health, Veteran’s health, joint health, supply and demand of doctors, skin cancer, vaping, medical marijuana, Type-2 diabetes and sexually-transmitted disease.
