WTCI will host Family Day, a free annual event, Sunday, November 10 from 1 to 4 pm at the Tennessee Valley’s community PBS station. Hosted at 7540 Bonnyshire Drive, behind the Bonny Oaks Drivers Service Center, this free event will kick off 50th anniversary celebrations for the community PBS station and will feature character visits with PBS KIDS friends, activities, food trucks and entertainment for the whole family.

Children of all ages will enjoy facepainting, games, activities and demonstrations from our community education partners. Sponsored by Angela Larkins, Attorney at Law and the Chattanooga Allergy Clinic, this event will include special events celebrating WTCI’s anniversary and Big Bird’s birthday, PBS KIDS games and activities plus photo opportunities for children with Clifford, Curious George and PBS KIDS friends! The Grate Melts Mobile Grill and Kona Ice Tropical Shaved Ice will anchor outside activities with a Chattanooga Fire Department touch-a-truck experience.

Green screen activities, storybook reading and music will entertain children and parents as they tour the community PBS station, engage in PBS KIDS activities and learn about PBSLearningMedia.org resources. Bryan Fuqua, Interim President and CEO of WTCI says, “Families have been depending on our station for fifty years for education and entertainment. We are honored to invite them to join us in kicking off this exciting anniversary celebration!” Exhibitors and community partners interested in being a part of Family Day should contact Rachel Froug at rfroug@wtcitv.org or 423-702-7819.
